Key to menu buttons

Buttons - general
Homepage You are leaving the catalogue and moving to the Library website.
Help General help in searching the Library databases.
New session Starts a completely new search session. All previous search data are deleted, unless you logged in via User information and stored the search results. These will then remain available and retrievable if you log on for a next session via User information.
New search Opens a blank search screen with the same search method selected, while search session continues. Data of searches already carried out are saved.
Save preferences Saves your search configuration preferences: interface language, search method, which database, max. number of items to be displayed, and selected index. The system will automatically reselect these preferences the next time you log into the catalogue.
Search history Displays all executed queries during current search session. As long as you do not start a new search session, you may shift back to earlier search queries and from there to earlier search results. You may also delete searches, or combine two or more searches. See also Using Search history.


Buttons - saving / output
Save all Saves all search results. During current search session you can retrieve these via button Saved items. If at beginning of or during session you log on via User information, the items you select will be stored. If you log on via User information in a next search session, you may retrieve your selected items.
Save item Saves the title on your screen. During current search session, you may retrieve this title and other saved titles via button Saved items. If at beginning of or during session you log on via User information, the items you select will be stored. If you log on via User information in a next search session, you may retrieve your selected items.
Save selection Saves only those titles you have selected. During current search session you may retrieve these via button Saved items. If at beginning of or during session you log on via User information, the items you select will be stored. If you log on via User information in a next search session, you may retrieve your selected items.
Saved items Displays title list you created via buttons Save all, Save item or Save selection. This list is saved during current search session. If you start a new session via the New session button, the saved items will be deleted. If at beginning of or during session you log on via User information, the items you select will be stored. If you log on via User information in a next search session, you may retrieve your selected items.
Cardex Only available for journal titles. This optionally allows you to see details of individual issues for the journal subscription.
Output Exports title list via mail or ftp. Output format options: rich or poor HTML. If you prefer to print, use standard print option in internet browser.


Buttons - user related
Log on Log on via this button. To log in you require an identity number and a password. See User information for further details. If you log on via this button or via the User information button, additional options will be at your disposal, like storage of search results, renewal of book loans and an overview of your personal data. [The functionality of this button is similar to that of the User information button.]
Log off Log off in order to begin a new search session. Search results will be deleted, unless you had logged in via User information and stored the results. If you stored the results, these will again be available next time you log on via User information. This functionality is of particular importance if you carried out your search on a public work station, for example in the library, and you do not wish your search results and personal data to be visible for others.
User information Log on via this button, or via the Log on button.To log on you require an identity number and a password. See User information for further details. If you log on via this button, additional options will be at your disposal, like storage of search results, renewal of book loans and an overview of your personal data. [The functionality of this button is similar to that of the Log on button.]
Make reservation

If a book which you wish to view/borrow is on loan, click on the Make reservation button in menu at left. An application screen is then displayed, where you enter your identity number and password (see User information for further details). After clicking Sign in your reservation data are displayed. This means your reservation is registered. As soon as the book is returned you will be sent an e-mail message to notify you that the book can be collected. If you click User infomation you will also find this information under 'My reservations'. Here you may also cancel your reservation.


Buttons - navigation
Level < Move back to previous level (screen).
Page > If search result comprises several items or pages, move one page forward with this button.
Page < If search result comprises several items or pages, move one page back with this button.


Buttons - select
Delete all Deletes all titles from saved title list.
Delete selected items Deletes selected titles from saved title list.
Select all on this page Selects all titles on page displayed; note, titles on following pages are not selected. The number of titles which you can select in one action therefore depends on the selected page length on the start screen.
View selected items Displays full catalogue entries of selected titles.


Buttons - current awareness / alert
Alert Move to the Alert Configuration Page, to compile and edit your alert(s).
Alert Configuration Move to the Alert Configuration Page, to compile and edit your alert(s).
Add Query All executed queries will be displayed. Each query can be used to compile an alert.
All acquisitions from a location Compiling an alert to all new acquisitions of a location.
Delete Query Delete the query and with it the alert.
Query > Move to the next alert.
Query < Move back to the previous alert.
