Searching by title
Searching for a given title may be done in various ways.
Which way to choose depends partly on the completeness of the data you have. Wildcards may be used.
Data from reference lists belonging to
journal articles, conference papers etc. are not always complete or correct. Abbreviations
may make reference lists difficult to read. In cases like these and always when given data
are not considered reliable the search methods <Search> and <Advanced
search> are recommended. Using wildcards
and boolean operators may be helpful. |
Title
search via search method <Search> |
Select Title
words index and preferably enter several words (no stopwords) from the title, separated by spaces or by the boolean and
operator. (If spaces are used the words are combined automatically by the boolean and operator!). If several titles
meet the query, a list will be displayed from which you can make your selection. If your
query is so selective that only one publication meets it, the full catalogue entry will be
displayed immediately. |
Title
search via search method <Index search> |
A title index is provided under this
search method. However, this search method is really useful only if you have correct data
to search by, i.e. the exact title. Select Title index and enter title. You don't always need to enter the
complete title (e.g. "textbook of medical physiology"); entering a sufficiently
selective part of the title will do (e.g. "textbook of phy"). If several titles
meet the query, a list will be displayed from which you can make your selection. If your
query is so selective that only one publication meets it, the full catalogue entry will be
displayed immediately. |
